The 2-Day Uluru Tour from Alice Springs (Camping) is a small-group trip that will take you deep into the heart of Australia’s Red Centre. Over the course of two days, you’ll see famous desert landscapes, hear stories that are profoundly related to the area, and see some of the region’s most beautiful natural events. This overnight trip is more than just sightseeing. You’ll walk around the base of Uluru, witness the rock shine at sunrise and sunset, and learn about the ancient formations of Kata Tjuta from native guides. Enjoy camp dinners, real outback hospitality, and the chance to sleep under a sky full of stars.
Prices are per person. If you purchase the Safari Twin Share Tent fare as a solo traveller, you will be paired with another visitor. We will try to pair you with someone of the same gender, but we can’t promise it. Children must be at least 8 years old, and an adult or legal guardian must be with them.
Highlights may vary by season, weather, and cultural factors. To ensure every traveller has an excellent experience, your guides will adjust the schedule.
Leave Alice Springs early and head toward the central desert region. On the route, stop at the spectacular Mt. Connor overlook, which is commonly confused with Uluru, then take a short break at Curtin Springs before getting to the Uluru campground for lunch. Guests joining the trip at Uluru, Yulara, or Ayers Rock Airport (AYQ) can use the free resort shuttle, which picks up and drops off at their hotel or the Ayers Rock Campground (lunch not included). Passengers from Uluru are picked up after lunch.
The Cultural Centre is where your journey into the outback begins, offering insight into the area’s cultural significance. After that, go to Uluru itself for a base walk to Mutitjulu Waterhole, where you can see ancient rock art and hear creation stories. Visit Kantju Gorge, home to Central Australia’s largest waterfall and an important site for elders. At the end of the day, everyone heads to the Uluru sunset lookout to witness a spectacular display of colour before enjoying a hearty camp dinner.
