Tour Details

Come with us on Pinnacles Tours to see some of Western Australia’s most beautiful natural areas. Instead of the city skyline, this laid-back one-day getaway features dusk skies, wildlife encounters, and the otherworldly beauty of the Pinnacles Desert.

Get away from the busy city of Perth and spend a relaxing day visiting some of the West Coast’s natural attractions.

We stop at the Guilderton Lookout after about 1.5 hours on the road. It is currently the interim replacement for Lancelin. This scenic viewpoint offers a panoramic view of Western Australia’s largest sand dune system. The tall white dunes contrast beautifully with the Indian Ocean in the distance. There are 83 steps to the overlook, taking about 7 minutes to climb. The parking area includes bathrooms and a café, making this a convenient stop.

Continuing north, we arrive at Nilgen Nature Reserve, known for its native wildlife and spectacular wildflower displays. When the flowers bloom, you’ll walk through colourful fields of banksias, bottlebrush, heath, grass trees, and kangaroo paws, showcasing Western Australia’s seasonal landscapes. Outside wildflower season, the tour visits Hangover Bay, where you can walk along the turquoise coastline and sometimes spot bottlenose dolphins or sea lions.

We then head inland to Nambung National Park to witness the Pinnacles Desert at sunset. Thousands of limestone spires rise dramatically from the golden sand dunes. These formations developed from ancient marine shells over millions of years. As daylight fades, the landscape shifts through shades of gold and amber, creating a moon-like desert scene.

Enjoy a relaxed picnic dinner accompanied by local Western Australian wine while watching the evening sky transform. After sunset, the region becomes perfect for stargazing. Listen to Dreamtime stories and look up at the clear night sky filled with stars and planets.

Our Commitment

We are committed to preserving the rare plants and animals encountered during our Western Australia tours. Our goal is to protect these World Heritage Listed environments and the remarkable species that depend on them. We also respect cultural traditions and recognise the deep connection between Traditional Owners and the land we travel through.

Helping travellers adopt responsible travel habits, encouraging low-impact tourism practices, protecting wildlife, and supporting the long-term sustainability of natural destinations are essential parts of our mission.

To learn more about responsible travel standards, visit https://www.ecotourism.org.au/.

Traditional Owners

We respectfully acknowledge the Traditional Owners of Country across Australia, with special recognition of the Wurundjeri people. Travellers are encouraged to remain mindful of cultural sensitivities and the spiritual significance these places continue to hold.

Wildlife Encounters

Wildlife should always be observed without interference. Guests should avoid sudden movements, loud noises, or attempts to touch, feed, or approach animals, including birds. Human contact may spread disease, alter animal behaviour, and in some cases provoke aggression.

Only trained wildlife professionals are permitted to handle animals. Feeding wild animals is prohibited as it disrupts natural feeding patterns and may harm their health or make them dependent on humans.

If you notice wildlife that appears injured, distressed, or at risk, please inform your Guide/Tour Leader, a National Park Ranger, or Visitor Centre staff immediately.

Protecting Our National Parks

Guests must stay on designated walking trails, follow safety signage, and listen carefully to their guide in order to protect fragile ecosystems. Leaving marked trails may damage native vegetation, disturb wildlife habitats, and expose visitors to hazards such as unstable ground, cliff edges, or slippery surfaces.

Plants, leaves, flowers, rocks, and fallen wood should not be removed from the environment, as each element plays an important role in the local ecosystem.

Waste Management

All tour vehicles are equipped with onboard rubbish bins. Organic waste such as fruit peels, bread, or food scraps should never be left in natural areas, as these materials can attract pests, spread disease, and harm native wildlife.

We encourage travellers to bring a reusable water bottle during the tour. Our vehicles provide access to water refill stations, helping reduce single-use plastic waste while keeping guests hydrated.

First Aid

All guides hold a current Level 2 First Aid certification. If you experience illness, injury, or any other issue during the tour, please notify your guide immediately. Travellers with pre-existing medical conditions should carry their medication and inform the guide at the beginning of the tour.

Smoking is not permitted inside tour vehicles, accommodation facilities, or permanent campgrounds. Please smoke only in designated areas and away from other guests. Although regular comfort stops are scheduled, specific smoking breaks cannot be guaranteed. Cigarette butts must always be disposed of responsibly.
