The Great Ocean Road Twelve Apostles Tour is a whole lot more than a scenic drive; enjoy complimentary morning tea, and we’ll even swing by a wildlife hotspot so you can get up close to the locals. This full-day adventure along one of the world’s most iconic coastal routes showcases Victoria’s Surf Coast in all its rugged and breathtaking beauty.
Get ready to embark on one of the world’s most epic coastal jaunts – the Great Ocean Road Twelve Apostles Tour. As we cruise along the iconic Great Ocean Road on day trips from Melbourne, you’ll be constantly snapping away at those show-stopping views and ocean vistas.
We’ll take a break at a seriously scenic lookout for a morning tea that’ll set you up for the day. Next up, we’ve got a special spot set aside for you to try and track down some of the amazing Aussie wildlife – kangaroos and native birds being the regulars you might spot.
You’ll get to hang out on some of the most famous surf beaches, wander through some of the world’s oldest rainforests, and finally end the day at the 12 Apostles in Port Campbell National Park – a real personal best moment.
As we make our way along the road, keep an eye out for some of Australia’s unique wildlife. You might see kangaroos grazing in a nearby paddock, or hear the distinctive calls of a kookaburra or a flock of king parrots overhead.
Next, we’ll be heading to the charming seaside village of Apollo Bay, nestled on the eastern side of Cape Otway. This is a perfect spot to stop for lunch (at your own expense), where you can either grab a casual meal at a café in the village or grab some food and enjoy a picnic on the beach.
Moving on, we’ll be heading into the Great Otway National Park, where your guide will lead you through an ancient rainforest teeming with eucalyptus trees that have been standing for centuries, giant ferns, and all sorts of wildlife. This is a great chance to stretch your legs and immerse yourself in what feels like a prehistoric landscape.
And then, of course, there’s the main event – the Twelve Apostles limestone stacks rising out of the Southern Ocean. Spend some time at the viewing platforms taking in the ever-changing colours of the sea and sky. You’ll also get to see the rugged Gog and Magog rocks, as well as views towards Gibson Steps, which is definitely one of the highlights of any Great Ocean Road tour.
Finally, we’ll be stopping at Loch Ard Gorge, where you can wander along the beach and hear the amazing story of the Loch Ard shipwreck of 1878 (which is just one of over 200 shipwrecks that have happened between Port Fairy and Cape Otway over the years). The views of Island Archway, the Razorback, and the Salt and Pepper Shakers make this spot a photographer’s dream.
Our final stop before heading back to Melbourne will be the regional town of Colac, where you can grab dinner (at your own expense) before we head back home. Your guide will share stories and insights throughout the journey, and all entry fees are included. And of course, we’ll make sure to drop you off at one of our designated pickup points in the city.
Don’t forget to bring a few essentials: warm clothing for the cooler parts of the day, sunscreen, a hat to keep the sun out of your eyes, comfortable walking shoes, and a camera to capture the scenery and wildlife you’ll see. This is one day you really won’t want to forget!

Yes — children aged 0–12 may join the tour, though infants require a paid child ticket and must share in the total headcount. Child seats can be requested (subject to availability), and prams/strollers cannot be carried on the coach.
You’ll have plenty of time to get off the bus, take some photos, and just enjoy the views. We can never guarantee exactly how long we’ll stay, as it depends on what’s happening at the time, but we’re trying to give you enough time to take it all in without feeling rushed.
The tour will generally proceed even if the weather isn’t ideal. We’re only going to cancel if things get really bad – like if there’s a severe storm on the Great Ocean Road and it’s not safe to keep going. If that happens, the tour operator will contact you right away to let you know.
Sorry, but space on the bus is pretty limited, so you won’t be able to bring big bags or suitcases – just small daypacks and stuff you need with you is fine. If you have a big bag, it’s probably best to leave it at your hotel or in the lockers at the station before you come on tour.
You will likely see some wildlife, but don’t get too hung up on it because we can’t guarantee you’ll spot anything. Kangaroos, birds and other Aussie wildlife are pretty common in the bushy bits and forests, so you’ve a good chance of seeing them – just keep an eye out!
